We at the Pearl Street church of Christ understand and believe the biblical principle and necessity of having an eldership to govern the congregation.  Jesus is the Head of the Church, (Ephesians 5:23 & Colossians 1:18), but Scripture also establishes the office of the elder (shepherd, pastor, bishop, overseer). The qualifications for an elder of the Lord’s Church are outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9.

In our current situation the Pearl Street congregation does not have any men serving in the capacity of an elder. We do pray that the Lord allows us to be in a place where we will be able to appoint some elders in the near future.
